A wonderful thing happens when you steep genmaicha (toasted rice green tea) in cream. It turns nutty, ever so slightly tannic, and has this gorgeous toasted rice scent. To give the flavor dimension, without overwhelming the nuance of the toasted rice, Jeni's adds a few vanilla marshmallows (naturally dyed pink, just for fun). The result is an ice cream that tastes a lot like gooey rice cereal treats. But with out-of-this-world flavor.
